My journey with art started in high school. I had a free period while my best friend had an art class, so naturally that’s where I went to hang out. We spent most of the class time talking, hanging out, and painting Spongebob characters on each others legs with the occasional listening to class and doing some art. Eventually, the teacher asked me to join the class so I could at least get a grade for my work. I drew charcoal ribbons with very heavy outlines and poor shading, but I was still so proud of it. I ended up also joining a beginners art class to learn the basics along with photography. In my photography class we were asked to create a logo for someone who was hitchhiking across the America and writing a book about it. I ended up winning and getting $20, never saw the book though. After high school, I went to college for biology but continued to work on my art. I was doodling in notebooks and began working on my digital art. My senior year I was able to take another art class to brush up on the fundamentals. After college I continued to work on my art and started to look at the world in more of a “how would I draw that” perspective. Now, I think it’s time to give selling my art a chance.
